Pick it up and give it to someone who can't afford one of their own. As for you, well you made your choice.

I might dig it out. Why should I confront you and pretend like you're a bad person whenever you don't hold the same value on it that I do? I would then hopefully get to talk to you a bit and maybe we could discuss some of the Bible.
But no, I would honestly hope to God, that a Christian would never confront someone throwing a Bible away and tell them they are a horrible person considering the person is not a Christian and does not hold the value of the book as we do.

First off the Bible is not a mythology book! It is the Word of God!
Secondly if I saw you throw the Bible away I would wait until you left and rescue it from the trash!
Thirdly I would pray for you!

Infidel! Heretic! You would throw away a bible? In the street? Don't you know you could be fined for littering? And all that paper going to waste - why not throw it into a recycling bin (where it could be made into a nice new shiny bible)? Ohhh, there's a special place in hell (or possible the law courts) for people like you. You'll be smoking in public next - quick, officer arrest that person!
I'm going to take my medication now - you've made me all dizzy.......

It's a book! I don't care if it's the Bible or The Cat In The Hat, books are sacred in and of themselves!
I read something from Salman Rushdie once where he talked about when he was a child, if he dropped a book--even a comic book--his mother made him kiss it when he picked it up, because it was a book and therefore sacred.

I'd do the same thing that I would do if you were throwing away ULYSSES or burning a flag. I'd think -- What a shame he is doing that -- but isn't it great to live in a country where he can!
I'm an agnostic -- but still think the Bible is worth keeping in my library.

I am not a christian, but would defnetly ask "why would you throw it openly when there are people around who respect it".
similar thing happened in india when a christian preacher from australia threw dieties of hindu and defamed hindu gods several times. He was burned down alive by an angry person.

Not care as I'm not religious, the book means nothing to a person that doesn't believe and would be useless to that person anyway. Now if you threw out MY bible, id be pissed because it was my property.

actually my kid and i were coming home from her school where some boys were throwing the bibles away that they had recieved in school
and we picked them up .. no confrontation or anything
strangely enough neither myself or my kid is christian ... but i find it quite disrepectful in general to treat any holy book in this way
maybe instead of throwing it away , hand it to a church etc

Discuss,
I would think that you barfed on it or something.
You know, I haeen't known too many Christians that worshipped the Bible. So don't you think that you've gone too far with your presumption that we are all ridiculous? Just a little?

Don't throw it away!!!!!!!! That fine paper is great for rolling joints or for use in paper mache! I pick them up every chance I get for craft projects....If the JW's and Mormans only knew how many Bibles I have "recycled" they would just freak!
