About a week ago, it had felt like I had dislocated my jaw, but I could still open it if I held it. Now, everytime I open my mouth, it feels like I am pulling a muscle in my right jaw. What could this be?

Trismus: Inability to open the mouth fully. This may be due to spasm of the jaw muscles and be a symptom of tetanus (lockjaw). Or it may be due to abnormally short jaw muscles, as in the trismus–pseudocamptodactyly syndrome.
Temporomandibular joint diseases and disorders, commonly called TMJ, are a collection of poorly understood conditions characterized by pain in the jaw and surrounding tissues and limitations in jaw movements.
Tetanus is a condition that affects the nervous system and causes painful, uncontrolled muscle spasms. Because of widespread immunization, tetanus is now rare. Another name for tetanus is lockjaw.
Read the information at these links about trismus, tetanus,and TMJ. Could be either of these, or none of these, but you should get it checked.

You may have lock jaw. My sister has this condition with her jaw...like every once in a blue moon, it is really painful and she can barely open her mouth. When she has an attack, it lasts for about one week and then gets better. I forget the name of her illness.

You have TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) problems, like so many people. Try to rest your jaw and not hold tension there. Doctors don't usually treat it. Dentists can make you a splint if you grind your teeth at night, but many people with TMJ don't grind.

TMJ, or Temporomandibular joint disorder, which is like having tendonitis in your jaw. Try taking anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen. When I get it, I can't even open my mouth to eat. It comes and goes.
