how long does it take for gangrene to develop in a leg after a gunshot?

It can develop very quickly. If there are any signs of infection it is very important to get to medical attention ASAP. Gangrene can not only cause the lose of the limb but loss of life.

Incubation period can be as short as 1 hour and as long as 6 weeks.

gangrene doesnt just happen - if the leg is looked after, it needent develop. it only develops if the leg gets infected.. and then the leg may be infected a while until you get gangrene. once gangrene sets in though, thats it!.. tissue death..

It varies, based on whether the wound is contaminated or not, how good or bad the circulation is to the area, etc. If there is any question, get medical attention.

from what i understand there is a line from the wound,which means its infected, best thing to do is go to the doctors or the er and find out, don't wait.

Not long , get it checked . If it's green and smelling bad , you already got it . You could lose your leg if you don't get treatment quick .
