Flaxseed oil shouldn't be heated. It will spoil if you cook with it.

You can substitute vegetable oil with canola oil.

Sure. You can substitute crankcase oil, too. How it will taste is another matter. If you give us a maiden name, spouse's name and a birthdate we can help you.
