It saddens me when people invoke Christianity to condemn. There are some denominations that are more accepting. (e.g. UCC and episcopalian) Also, reform Judaism is okay. Do you really need an organized religion though? You really just need a personal connection. That's all that really matters. So many of these organized religions are founded on faulty ideals. Know yourself, that's what's truly important.

There are a few Christian churches that are accepting of gays; these are usually independent, non-denominations churches. Find one and talk to a few members if you can to test the waters. We also have a church here that, while it doesn't cater exclusively to gays, is founded on being a church where gays are made to feel welcome; the entire pastoral staff is gay/lesbian.
The UU also is very accepting of gays and also accepting of any religion you choose to bring along with you, and, as was mentioned, Reformed Judaism doesn't mind at all.

A TRUE chrstian is loving an accepting towards gays. The bible says that none of us is without sin and that all sin is equal, I don't understand why some christians believe they are better than anyone else. They are truly the sinners. Secondly, the only parts of the bible that specifically speak out against gays also contain tons of other jargon that modern chrsitians have disregarded. Who are they to say that eating shellfish is okay (although expressly forbidden by leviticus) however being gay is an abomination? Read the bible and interpret it how your sprit guides you. Here in Dallas we have many gay and lesbian christian churches.

Not all Christian denominations condemn homosexuality. The Episcopalians are squabbling over this stance, but many Episcopal congregations are welcoming of gays and lesbians. Not all Unitarian Universalists are Christians, but many are, and they are dedicated to making homosexuals welcome. The United Methodist Church has actively advertised its welcoming stance (though several prominent television networks have refused to air those ads). I'm sure there are others. People are slowly coming around. The truth eventually wins out, and the truth is that homosexuality harms absolutely no one and is as natural as heterosexuality.

Jon,
Okay, well if that's what you want to do! (?)
But realize, the Muslims in particular would put you to death. That's no lie. But whatever floats your boat.
Just to let you know, I am an inactively gay Christian. Inactive in the Gay part. Very active in the Christian part. I think that Gays should be Christians if only to stick it to those that think you have to be something like them in order to be one.
If you have more questions,e-mail me. I will totally tell you about this life of confidence that I have spiritually. You don't have to stop being Gay to be Christian. And I'm telling you the absolute truth. It's not about anyone else, just you and God.

Why do you feel the need to "follow" a religion? Search for your own truth, not someone elses. God will love you no matter what church you go to.
It is what is in your heart that counts, not what is in a religion.
Your truth is literally at your fingertips, you only need look for it.
look at the worthy Christian answers above, do you really think a loving and caring God would approve. If he wasn't so loving I would think he would sue for misrepresentation.
Love and Light

If your looking for a church, your search is going to be a difficult one!
I would try going to a Bible church, they tend to be the most accepting.
Always remember that your Christian brothers will help keep you in line, but all you really need is God. For only he gives you the power to tread on serpents.
Don't stop trying because you are accepted poorly. And ask God to show you one that will accept you for who you are. He will show you!
From one Christian to another: You are a sinner just like me and everyone else! So don't listen to anyone who condemns you for your actions as they are sinners too! God will put you in a safe place. All you have to do is ask!

The United Church is very accepting.
The Anglican Church is in the midst of coming to an understanding and acceptance of homosexuality. Officially, the Anglican Church in Canada has no problem.
I believe Buddhism is also very accepting.
Keep checking around.....I know here in Canada there are even congregations of the Catholic church that accept homosexuals into the parish. (not many though)

hey man, nobody created you as gay. got created you as straight but you recreated yourself as gay. want a religion? take bible. and stop being gay and lying to yourself. then you'll have a better life. gayism is the road to perdition, an open mouth of hell.

well, God didnt create you, your mom and dad did. God only created Adam and Eve from there on only humans "created" other humans. however u can argue that he allowed for the creation of you. im sure there aer accepting religions for gays/lesbians, i know there are christian denominations for them as well (i have nothing against gays/lesbians, so dont get me wrong) however in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 6:9 it strictly says homosexualty is a sin. so i dont know where exactly to go from there. perhaps the other christian denominations that allow gay, takes it in a differet context
