I am a closet crossdresser who has only bought little things in public like panties and bras, should I dare to actually go out and try on a night gown and buy it, help!! im scared and dont konw if i should do it.

Well, here's the thing... if you want to stay in the closet, then you had better be very careful buying a dress in public. Maybe you could purchase a gown online.
But, if you're ready to "come out" and announce to the world your true self.... then by all means.... go buy that gown and have a "ball".
Don't worry what others will think.... be who you are!!

Make sure whichever store you go to has a men's fitting room like Sears, Walmart, etc., as an exclusively female lingerie store (such as Victoria's Secret) will not have a fitting room you can use. If you can roughly estimate your size, it might be better if you bought it and tried it on at home. Check the store's return policy in case it doesn't fit.

You need to find a store that caters to cross dressers, swingers, bikers, etc. The place that my wife and I visit caters to the above and we buy all our leather products there.
