why are so many folks so touchy on the god thingy?

I think you're right that God doesn't care (or rather judge us) on what we say or do. But for a different reason.

My idea of what or who God is, is a little different. I believe that God is not a being or an entity, but the formless, genderless, energy source of life itself. Not an old guy with a long white beard and flowing robes sitting in a throne in the clouds somewhere.

I believe that God gave us the ability to answer our own prayers and create our own reality through the gifts of free will and the law of attraction.

The universal law of attraction says that the vibrations we put out into the world with our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, words and actions, whether they are positive or negative, love-based or fear-based, lead to the events that we experience in return, in one form or another.

Put out fear and hatred and negativity and you will experience it in your life in one form or another. Put out love and positive vibes, and you will get those back too. It probably won't happen instantaneously, but if you pay attention, then again, it just might.

God gives free will and does not take it away or interfere with it just because we get into a jam, so it is a gift with a double-edged sword. Once given, it is our responsibility. Not God's.

Its not God people are touchy about. People are touchy about having God rammed down their throat with all the accompanying fire and brimstone. Live and let live I say!. If you want to have religion then that's cool, but religion should be a personal choice, an exercise in humility and silent devotion. Unfortunately that's usually never the case. Sad but true.

formerly I answer this i favor to state that i'm agnostic (in case you dont understand what it really is in ordinary words google it) ok before each little thing God o Jesus is strange in words of talking of an invisible guy that watches you all day lengthy for something else of your existence.... Thats type of creepy in case you imagine about it, faith is a complete lie and non secular anybody is loopy, none of them have considered god and they have "faith" in something that there not even particular if its actual or only a fashion to get money from idiots... once you're saying the be conscious "jesus" and commence talking about faith and the bible you're in possibility... I advise you'd be critiaiced and human beings will argue with you... plenty, i became christian and a examine the entire bible and realised it became a lie, thou I appreciate religious human beings yet i think undesirable for them, there all blind, you want solutions? Dont seem for them in a e book wrote through people inspired in a so stated as "god" that per chance dosent eaven exist

People get touchy about God because deep, deep down they know it is a fantasy and if they ever actually look at it using intellect and reason then they will have to admit they have wasted years of their lives believing in a Lie!

I'll answer the question about why people get so touchy about it, because it's very personal. Most people could really care less what you do, or don't believe, but people start to get touchy if it sounds to them like your attacking their beliefs.

Christians are touchy because they have talked to God.

Wow, and you say other ppl are touchy? You've got an anger issue there. As for God not answering prayers, well He does. Sometimes though the answer is NO and thats when ppl get all upset with Him.

Secondly, God does answer prayers, but the point is, if you don't believe in God, why do you pray to Him? Secondly, God is not a God of convenience...he doesn't answer prayers for everyone who asks. Believe it or not, sometimes, God says no, just like most parents (or at least good ones).
