There are still prickles left in my arm where it hit me and they really hurt. What should I do? Throw some freshly chopped chillies at his naked privates or something else. He still thinks it is really funny and keeps telling his mates but I think it is the most un-romantic thing he's ever done.

That sounds painful - and not just the prickles left in your arm.
If you can see the prickles, you could try removingthem with some tweezers. Better still - ask your boyfriend to help remove them. That would give him a chance to redeem himself, and also to show him the consequences of his actions.
Has he ever done anything like this before? If not, hopefully it's a one-off. If he has....you need to have a talk with him. Stay calm, but tell him that you don't appreciate him making fun of you to his friends, and you need for him to understand that you feel hurt, both literally, and emotionally.
You're right - it wasn't at all romantic. Maybe he finds being romantic a bit of a pressure and this is his way of trying to tell you? If so, a talk would help, because it would give him the chance to tell you if anything else is going on for him.
I would say that if he responds well to the talk, and/or helps you remove the prickles (and kisses it better!) you could let him off, this time.
But if he ever does anything else like it - then something should definately happen to His prickle....I think the suggestion about icing sugar would be a good one - never heard that one before! I wouldn't recommend anything stronger than that - unless you want to dump him. Don't stoop to his level!

He just sounds immature...if you can't make him understand how much this hurt you, perhaps you should begin shopping. If he is like this about a prickly pear, what about major things? And by the way, I got some habenero pepper (scotch bonnet) under my fingernails and both hands burned all the way up to my wrists for two days, no matter how much I scrubbed...Just some food for thought, and no pun intended.

He's a very immature person so i suggest cooking with dog food!!
offer 2cook his dinner, then instead of meat use dog food.not many people can tell the difference! when he's done eating it, tell him uve got a surprise 4him and tell him the ingreadients in the food and say ur dumping him 4being so thoughtless and uncaring 2do that and not care about the pain ur in!!
works everytime!
he might throw up when he hears that his dinner was the dogs literally!!

Went out to the Island off the coast at Benidorm Spain...and picked a prickly pear off a cactus....OWWW!.. those issues are comprehensive of little hair like spines...6 weeks later i became nevertheless getting them out of my hands!

ok I'm thinking he was just playing around and he probabaly didn't mean anything by it. So just do something to him. If he wears tidy whities or briefs you can always but some icy/hot in the croch area. Or like make him a drink and put jalepeno juice and hot sauce in it but don't tell him it's there until he drinks it.

go to A&E and get them removed. Theyre probably like thin hairs n need to be removed by a professional. Im sorry to hear that hun.. If hees hairy? (somewhere) yank a few out to share the same sort of pain with him... 8-)

get the prickles removed by a doctor, don't use insurance, and make him pay the bill since it's his d*am fault in the first place. what an a**.

Ahhh young boys...gotta love them! don't do anything and when he makes fun of you, get up and walk away. Tell him, if he bothers to ask, that you don't appreciate being made fun of and becoming a joke at his expense. As long as he behaves this way, you're going to stop seeing him.

Dust his underpants or pyjamas with icing sugar. When he gets sweaty, the icing sugar will turn into icing and get very sticky. Hahahaha.
Alternatively, rip his nuts off and throw them at him. LOL
