A lot of energy right now! You take a sugary, caffeinated drink. You need energy for a long exercise session, such as a set of tennis, a round of golf, a long hike or run, then load up on more complex carbs, such as pasta and whole grain breads.

In any case, hydrate yourself with water BEFORE you begin your routine, not just during or after. If you lose to much fluid, you will feel very tired long before you muscles fatigue.

try to stay away from regular sugars, they just make you crash. High protein, and some (starches (even though I think they turn to sugar), If you are going to eat to get and maintain energy you WILL need to workout! ex: ARMY food gave enough calories to keep you going all day, but I got hurt and spent, three months on crutches,... and gained twenty pounds, because I couldn't burn the calories. I think a well balanced diet with all groups in moderation is your best bet. Drink lots of water too. Good luck!

I always carry a bag of natural almonds - not the chocolate or the salted kind! A handful will boost up your energy level throughout the day. Also making sure you are filled up with fiber will give you added energy. Oranges are also an instant winner!

Are you eating enough protein?
don't eat meals just with carbs, specially at nights because you are going to bed, there is no way you'll burn those carbs in your sleep :). Try to eat carbs in the morning and more protein and vegetables during the day.
Are you sleeping OK? don't eat 3hrs before bed, don't drink caffeine after 1pm so, you can rest well and be energized for the next day!
I guess bottom line is eat well and sleep well, keep up with your excersice!

Good luck!

More sleep, water (which is the human body's greatest uplifter if you get what you are supposed to), and complex carbs like veggies, fruits, and even a TINY amount of sugar here or there if you want to indulge yourself (VERY SMALL AMOUNT).

Complex carbohydrates and protien. Chocolate gives quick energy--but also fades quickly. I like cheese for a quick lift, or a smoothie made with fruit and yogurt.
