The school probably has rules on the exact age that they will accept in a kindergarten student, and the state probably has rules about when the child must enter the system, so I'm not sure that they have any real choice in the matter. I started early, and I don't think they did me any favors by doing that. Unless your school is capable of proper individual attention for the gifted child, or the child who is having a little difficulty in keeping up, starting early won't be of any benefit.

I didn't think kindergarten was an option. If the child will be 5 years old by October of the school year, I thought they had to go. (Unless they are home schooled.)

If your little brother is intelligent enough, then he should be able to attend kindergarten. Just remember, there are 15 year olds that have college degrees because they were able to handle the work.

Don't worry about it. Leave the decision up to your parents.
