yes, mine definitely looks dead when she sleeps . She sleeps on her side but tilts her head so that you cant see eyes or forehead as they are pressed under or on any surface. It looks like sometimes she has broke her neck, The only tell tale sign that she is alive is a moving bellow when she breaths.

I saw this question and literally laughed out loud, we had a cat that definitely looked like roadkill when it slept ( laying on it's back with all four paws sprayed out)....thanks for the laugh!

Cat's generally curl up in a ball when they want serious sleep. Naps are one thing, but sleeping is another thing. When a cat kind of turns it's head upside down that also means "do not disturb". Curling up in a ball enables them to keep cozy warm and it also indicates they are getting there much needed zzz's.

Perhaps you should use more descriptive words than "roadkill". YECH!
No, mine look cute. Some lay on their backs with all four feet splayed out. One lies on her tummy with her back feet spread eagle. Some curl up and look like little angels.
NONE of them look like "roadkill"!

No mine looks like a cap sides turkey. He lays on him back when he sleeps and is very fat. 23 pounds!

i'm assuming you mean that your cats lays out on its back with its legs sticking out??? lol... my little girl cat does that ALL the time and she looks so silly. my little boy cat does it but not so often.
i've heard that they do this only when they feel very safe and comfortable... so you should think of it as a compliment!!
