If online poker is more important than your girlfriend then let her leave you. If not then stop playing it except once in a while. Keep it in perspective. If she bosses you too much though you make want to check and make sure who is wearing the pants here...she probably just cares a lot about you

Assuming that you like your girlfriend, you should trick her into thinking you're making a compromise.
Why don't you sit her down, and designate "poker days" for yourself. Tell her that on these days, this is your time and it cannot be interrupted. I'm sure she has certain things she does for herself that she wouldn't want you intruding on. Bring some of those up.
Also express that this is your hobby, and a legitimate one at that. Bring up the hobbies she has, and equate your love of poker to her love of shopping or exercising etc.
Tell her you promise to dedicate more time to her, and that you will dedicate certain days to her and only her. Make the poker thing a sweet deal for both of you by saying you'll use some of your winnings to take her shopping, or to a special restaurant, or skydiving on your next date.
And lastly, if it's true, tell her how much you appreciate having her as your girlfriend...and that you wouldn't be willing to spend your winnings on just anyone!

Really depends on your situation...are you losing so much online that it is affecting other aspects of your life? or is there some other aspect about your relationship that needs to be addressed? The real thing here is if you're not spending the rent money and you enjoy playing she shouldn't have a problem with it if it makes you happy. The quick fix here would be to dump her before she dumps you then you get to go by your own hand rather than someone else's.

We'll it just depends on how much attention you giving to playing chess than your girl friend. If you're always infornt of the computer and you don't want to go out or don't pay attention to her then I think she has a reason to theaten you. Now if you play and you give her attention too then, just talk to her and tell that you've playing chess, and she should accept that. Try to invite her to play with you, that way you both are spending quality time together and you're doing something that you like. Now I'm just going to give you a good advice-never put a sport/game/friends first than someone that you really love because they might get tired and you'll end-up loosing them. A game/sport won't bring you full happiness, love and care. Always remember that. Good Luck!!

I think you should take time away from playing poker and spend time with her. you need to work it out so you spend time wih her and you get to play some online poker....If you love her and want to be with her then you need to spend some time with her and show her that she is apart of your life.Poker is something you do on your own time spend time with her is all she is asking for

well, maybe you are paying too much attention to the game instead of her..
or maybe you are losing a lot of money?anyways..try and come to a compromise with her..tell her you will play less..or not lose money..or whatever...and DO IT!
If she loves you really she will make a compromise with you, since she knows you do like that game and you dont really want to quit playing...be honest(both of you) about why she doesnt want you to play anymore..listen to her, and try to understand if the reasons she is giving are affecting you in some way....then talk to her HONESTLY....and tell her what part can you change...the time of play, the quantity of money spent etc...
I hope this turns out for the best! good luck!

I would nail her one last time and do a real good job, not the usual run-of -the-mill bang. Show her some real attention. Then tell her your sorry it is over, but you had a poker thing to get to and sorry you can't work out your differences. Then ask one of her good looking friends on a date.

you need to decide what is most important to you. If its the computer game, then do her a favor and leave her. If its her, tell her she is more important than the game and work on a compromise. Mabey you can play just before bed for an hour or something like that so she can anticipate it and fill that time with something she likes to do.

Sorry, I can understand her feelings. Your addicted and don't want to admit to it. The best you can do is keep playing poker and adjust to being without a girlfriend.
