Unless your mother has claimed you on taxes she is not your problem. If you have been out of high school for a year, living on your own, or not claimed on anyones taxes, you are independent. If someone has claimed you, you either need thier forms, or you need to move out on your own for a year.

If you are under 25, not married, not in the military, no children, nor a ward of the court, there is nothing you can do until one of those things happens.
You must use whoever claims you on their taxes. If both parents are deceased or unavailable, check with the financial aid office where you plan to attend, and ask them for help.

No, you would be seen based. you at the instant are not in threat of homelessness in basic terms through fact there is "no longer something for you there". except you have a letter from a take care of or something comparable, you would be seen based and be required to offer your mom's tax records to get economic help. in case you won't be able to, tell your economic help workplace and that they're going to technique you for unsubsidized loans in basic terms, which does no longer be everywhere close to sufficient to pay for college.

If you don't know where she is, I'm assuming she doesn't claim you as a dependent on her taxes. If no one else claims you as a dependent, either, then you are independent. If your mother is claiming you, but is not supporting you, that is tax fraud.
