How come the Marines are coming up short for recruits?

To MANY families have Marines returning home with lost limbs, destroyed vision, and PT SD. Getting the VA to follow through with adequate medical treatment is nonexistent. The potential recruits are NOT blind to their brothers trials and tribulations. Nobody wants to hire a maimed veteran. So, they feel it is insane to sign up for future MISERY. I can't believe that you could ask such a ignorant question.

It's the EASIEST branch of the military to get into... the Air Force is the hardest. But I digress...

For years, all the branches have been having difficulty getting the recruits they need. It's a combination of the times we live in, the job market out there aside from the military (which is actually pretty decent), and the lack of pay that the military has always received. Those on IRR aren't all sad to go. Most enjoy the opportunity. Marines are like that. Plus, if they have a decent job on the outside, that job will continue paying them some type of benefit or pay (or both) while they are back on active duty. Considering the amount of personnel we have deployed in that area over the last five years, the loss of life (yes, I know one life lost is too many) has been low. It IS a war.

You not often see military and Air rigidity, and there are not very many military ones that are no longer duplicates of another video. Now days joining the Armed Forces is equivalent to getting ship to Iraq, not many come forward knowing they could be next.The Price for Freedom has come way to easy for some while others have sacrifice their lifetime to it...
