Im trying to do it in photoshop, which i have never worked with before, but im trying to learn it. I know that not everyone and cut out a perfect shape around a person in a picture (at least i know i cant come anywhere near that when doing a picture on the computer)

Put the photo on one layer. Put the image on another layer. Control Click the image layer to select it. Invert the selection. Go to the photo layer and hit delete. The photo will be the exact size and shape of the image.

Your question is not clear, but there are several ways to eliminate background that you don't want. You can start by using the lasso selection tool to draw a line around the person you want to keep. After you have completed that, you cut that and paste into a new document. You can then use the eraser tool or paintbrush to touch-up the edges. There are other ways too. If you have iTunes, I recommend checking out the video podcasts and downloading some Photoshop tutorials. The 2 Minute Photoshop tips are great.

open new canvas
give it same dimensions which u want to give to ur foto
now drag that foto on canvas and stretch it so it cover whole canvas
now save it
i give u free suggestion
dont use adobe
better find roxio 7 or 8 from some where
it will solve any kind of music problem,foto problem,video problem
try to get roxio 8

there should be a magnetic lasso type thing in the tool bar if you're wanting to cut out the excact shape of the person.

There always free image crop programs that you can use on line.Just upload your photo they are really easy!!

You can also try the extract feature. I think it's under edit.
