I'm making a tomato based beef stew and I just accidently burnt it a little on the bottom I've heard of putting peanut butter in it to cover up the taste but I didn't want to try that just yet does anyone have any other solutions or is the peanut butter thing true?

Put it in another saucepan that is not tainted with burnt taste and add some vinegar about 4 tabs.

I don't know nothing about no peanut butter but maybe if you poor it into another pot or large bowl then scrape the bottom burnt part out and wash the pot then put it back in there and continue to cook it, maybe that'll work. Ugh a burnt taste to your food is so nasty, and peanut butter beef stew don't sound too appetizing either

If your stew is slightly burnt, milk will take the burnt taste out.
Gravy Too Burnt? -- It's said that a spoonful of peanut butter stirred into burnt gravy will help remove that scorched taste.

If you only burned a little bit it really won't matter too much. I never heard of the peanut butter thing and that sounds terrible too. Add some more water and veggies and some more seasonings to dilute out any burned taste.Onions, celery and garlic help in the stew too. You can also add a jar of tomato sauce to help out here too.

Well if you have not stirred any of the burnt off the bottom of the pan you can simple pour the stew into another pot. Once you stir some of the burnt into it there is no fix for it.

If you haven't scrapped the bottom, try pouring the stew into a clean pot, adding more water, perhaps a few more tomatoes and try adding some vinegar. It should be alright unless the flavor has penetrated completely through.

If it is just scorched on the bottom you may be able to remove the upper parts and not disturb the burnt area . If the scorched flavor has gone through the sstew there is not much that you can do to cover it up.
