If you want to reduce your cholesterol count, best bet would be to change your diet.
If you want to burn calories then you have 2 choices. Either solo pursuits like going running, swimming or going to a gym, where you have to be self motivated. Or do a participation sport like badminton, soccer, ultimate etc which you may enjoy more and find easier to motivate yourself to do.
Also try spending less time on the web.

"Up-down, up-down, up-down", and some serious jumping.
Generally on the back of a horse but works well in other instances, sometimes...
Considering the hours I put in to care for my beasties, I must find it a splendid way to exercise. Ask me in the middle of winter and I may be a little less enthusiastic for the 'up-down' on the back of a horse and more inclined to an indoor version of the other 'up-down'...
(though I would possibly admit that there is nought better than a decent gallop, it burns the calories and fires the soul like nothing else I know).

triathlon. do a 20 minute swim, 20 minute bike then a 20 minute run, then let me know how you feel. if you want to burn calories, do it all at a hiking pace. not too slow, not too fast...
