Get her nothing...gifts are annoying as we age..no place to put them, no use for them. INstead, make up a family scrapebook with meaning for her. Give her the gift of YOU, your time, sit with her and listen to her stories...they are fascinating. Take a tape recorder, get her life story from beginning to end, share her happiness and her tragedies....you will have the makings of a great book, an addition for the family tree study. She has lived through some very hard times, and some very good times...get her perspective on life...learn, learn, learn..she has so much wisdom to share...there will come a day when you will really apprecate the time and stories...see "Fried Green Tomatoes" if you want an eye opener....it would be the best gift anyone could give..their time and life. Good luck

OK, after I got a very big laugh about dildo (sorry, but I could not control the laugh when I read that), seriously, I would take her to someplace nice like a restaurant that serves dinner on a yacht, etc.
And I hope this is NOT her last birthday. People should live into
their 100's.
Please say happy birthday from a stranger. Hope she has a great one.

My mother passed less than 2 years ago at 90.
You have gotten some good suggestions, but at that age - and younger- the one thing that will make her happy is you.
I don't know her personality, but likely she has more things than she wants or needs. If you are unable to take her out to a movie, lunch, an afternoon drive....or you need to take a gift also, take a small basket of fruit or cheese and crackers, assortment of small breads (pumpkin and such), or variety of muffins or whatever. Use a very pretty basket and arrange nicely; perhaps with fresh flowers.
But she wants your time; as often and as much as you can give.

My grand mother in law, rest in peace, was 104. She always enjoyed company more than anything. And they like to say, bring me beautiful flowers while I'm still here, not when I'm gone. She also liked money. Everytime you gave her a card she'd open it and shake it out for the money. She was pretty honest too, if there wasn't any money in there she would sure look disappointed. So, I'd say, company, beatiful flowers and money. She may be getting tired of trinkets. Anything she can spend - time and money. Enjoy her and talk to her as much as you can to get that wisdom. I wish I did that as much as I should have.

I doubt this will be her last birthday, but one thing our family wishes we had done for our grandmas was to make a recording of their favorite memories. Believe it or not, most people don't like to listen to older people talk because they tend to say things over and over again. This birthday why not ask her to tell you about herself as a girl and a young women. Her likes and dislikes, places she's been or wished she had gone, stuff like that! Show her pictures of family past and present and maybe she'll tell a little story about them. Dinner is nice, a card is nice, but if you really think that you won't have her much longer, now would be a really great time to see who she really is as a person, not just Grandma.

When my Norwegian Mother was 85 years old, she too had everything she needed. BUT I thought how she liked to listen to Music, So I purcashed her a nice CD radio with head phones and I had a CD from the country of Norway. She really enjoyed it. She passed away . So that might be a good idea, especially if she enjoys music. When they get as old as 90, they really don't ask for much. The main thing is just to be with her. Hug her and tell her you LOVE HER . And Lots of Smiles.

If you can, make an album or a power point presentation with pictures and events that have happened during her life span. You may get a greeting card with the trends in the year of her birth. Good luck !

You should get her something that has a picture of all of you in it. I suppose maybe a plaque of some kind with special words engraved in it. "For the best Grandmother in all the world" "We love you so much" Something like that. Hope that helped. Good luck

Get her a gift certificate to a nail salon, of a place to eat... Tell her you want to take some time out to enjoy life. Be prepared to ask about stories in her life when she was your age... Make it her time, in the long run you will learn a lot...
