All Christians believe in life after death.
The "after life" before and after Jesus' Death and Resurrection is completely different.
After the fall of mankind and before Jesus died for our sins, the gates of heaven were closed to all humans. The just who died waited in what is called in the Old Testament Abraham's bosom or Sheol.
After Jesus died on the cross, he descended into Sheol, the place of the dead. While there He freed the holy souls who awaited their savior in Abraham's bosom and, as saints, they went to heaven. Then Jesus rose from the dead.
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Episcopal Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or, you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
With love and prayers in Christ.

I read the Bible reference you made:
Ec 9:5 (NAS)
For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.
Not sure what that has to do with Catholics and life after death. The passage is referring to life in this world, not the next.
But to answer your question, it is a core belief of all Christians that there is life after death. Though I have a few problems with some Catholic beliefs, they are for the most part Christian and therefore also hold to these beliefs.

Yep I do. i did no longer think of catholics have been allowed nonetheless as this might come under witchcraft and the black arts in some bigoted catholic concept. The Buddha's be conscious of plenty approximately it and each now and then this is declared as reincarnation - it extremely is once you reside - you die and you get reborn into this existence lower back as yet another man or woman. There are all kinds of ideas looking on your ideals. in actuality in case you have faith you will flow to heaven once you die you will, in case you have faith you will flow to hell you will, in case you do no longer have faith you will only word it sluggish later which you're in blackness yet you will think of. in case you have faith you will flow to Hawaii - you will too. So only be imaginitive once you die and think of of the place you will possibly desire to be - then you certainly will flow to a prefabrication of same. playstation it extremely is in basic terms the actual physique that dies no longer the spirit or soul. Bit like changing your automobile to get around. PPS - Your epidermis may be regardless of coloration you desire it to be too on your new existence.

Because that's part of the essential meaning of a "Catholic". And the New Testament replaces the Old Testament, including Ecclesiastes.

Because we do believe in life after death. In fact, we don't believe we die, we believe life changes. Heaven, hell--all that is life after death.
