They are currently working on the fiscal year 2000... finishing up. They will begin processing applications of January 1st, 2001, coming October...

Immigration holds people of certain nationality. There is a quota. If there are 200,000 Polish people, and the country can only allow 204,000-- than 4 thousand Polish applications will only be allowed. The rest will have to sit and wait....

If there are only 9 million Mexicans allowed, and there are currently 9 million Mexicans with 30 million Mexican illegals...than don't expect getting in for a loooooooooooooooooong time...

You can also thank the Mexican illegals for making this possible, as illegal immigration has a lot to do with it.

Why dont they hire more people to help out and solve this back log issue? I mean it's totally ridiculous!! Things like this should always be done within a certain time period. Help people by employing them in areas that need people and keep moving things along!!

Because they can. They have such a backlog that it will take years to clear.They have probably lost more papers than they have. Its a job for life we are paying for and if they worked in normal jobs most would be unemployed.

have you ever heard the term "hurry up and waite", every government office specializes in this practice because they are not paid to be fast. they are paid to be thorough. but most are in no rush for any reason ......sorry that's real life.

like to say there is a very valid reason but its just incompetence or the fact that you are not an illegal imigrant which has been refused entry to the uk/
