If so, what were you ranting about.
I wrote to the Liverpool Echo complaining about Wetherspoons hypocritical family policy, and the buggers edited my letter, well I suppose 4 sides was a bit much for the letters page.

Dark angel, me going into care was a local issue, only published I think in the Walton and Anfield Times. Please don't make it international, we all have our secrets.

Dear Editor,
There is a dog that wears an effeminate pink frock and cocks its leg on my gatepost every morning. I have complained repeatedly to the police and to the council but no action has been taken. Is it to be wondered that decent citizens are provoked into taking the law into their own hands?
Yours,
Disgusted of Merseyside

Yes, I have wrote my local paper a few times and my comments and concerns were never printed. I complained about Hormel Foods lack of concern for our local enviorment due to chemicals they dump into the ground on a daily basis, and their hiring of illegal immigrants. My other piece was about a new noise law the city passed banning what they consider loud exhaust noise. They were ticketing all foriegn motorcycles and cars that were "tricked out", while letting Harleys off the hook. I dont know what Wetherspoons hypocritical family policy is but Im sure you gave the hell.

I complained once, and wrote a letter to the editor, when local politicians raised the local option sales tax, and one had the audacity to refer to the money as "their money". The fools screwed up the effective date of the increase and then complained in the paper that they were in effect, being cheated out of "their money". That is the is the trouble with many politicians, they think the people's money belong to them.
Oh by the way, they are now squandering the money by building a cheesy arch across a road trying to revitalize the downtown area.

Yeah. I have written twice to a very good newspaper here. My comments were never printed though. Many people write into the newpaper here because I live in a big city and I understand that they have to edit or choose which ones will be printed. How they determine this I don't know. Kind of a mystery to me. I was ranting about growth management in Florida and the horrid traffic situation that we currently have.

Generally I complain about Stephen Harper and the Conservative party's policies. But then I've been complaining about the Conservative Party's policies for a lonnnnnnnng time in the paper.
However most newspapers limit you to five hundred words per letter with the priviso if there is anything that is libellous they get to edit it. Or if it's well over 500 words, they get to edit for clarity.

I am a columnist on a local paper. Problem is there is so much wrong with the Uk that if we put all the letters in that's all there would be. Always remember the editor has the right to chop it up before he prints. Its the same when you give radio interviews.

I haven't but my dad has. He wrote to the Sunday Oklahoman for running a story about a policeman that got a sex change operation. (He became a she.) We haven't bought or subscribed to the paper since.
Liverpool Echo, eh? My guess is you aren't from the United States. Cool! I love corresponding with people from across the Big Pond!

I write letters to the Editor all the time. I even had 3 of them published in TIME Magazine. They are often edited, due to space constraints.
