If I look you don't see anything, but she says it hurts sometimes its not red and it doesn't look like a pimple. She told me it hurts and to feel it and it is like they are swollen. She has had this since she was eight a few months ago, I doubt she is hitting puberty so what could this be? I plan on taking her to the doctor but i forgot cuz she rarely says anything about it unless she was rough housing with her brothers and they accidently hit her there.

I work at a pediatric office and that is very common among little girls 8-9 yrs old. It is called breast buds and starts a couple years before puberty. This can also occur in boys but is less common.

My little sister started her period when she was 9 years old, and had boobs at 10. Don't rule out the fact that she may already be showing signs of puberty. Your doctor may tell you the same thing. Buy her a training bra, and let her start wearing that. She can put a warm wash cloth on her chest to ease the ache and pain she may feel. Don't worry it's more common than you think.

Breasts can start developing even a few years before actul puberty hits (period) I would definatly take her to the dr. but more than likly she needs a training bra and she could possibly be showing signs of early puberty. Some girls can go through it quite early, I was in the 4th grade when I did.

Precluding puberty - a symetrical presentation like that might indicate swollen lymph nodes - usually an indication of blood poisoning or an infection - best to take her to a doctor and have it checked out.

the good news is - that because it's a symetrical presentation - it does rule out them being tumours or anything like that - but please take her to a doctor!!

EDIT:

further to hypothesizing about early puberty,, in fact onset of puberty is happening younger and younger - due in part to the prevelance of hormones in our food!

It seriously sounds like the on set of puberty to me. She isn't too young, it happens to girls that age way more than you would think.

I'm afraid you'll find she is starting to develop. They seem to be doing it younger and younger these days, but obviously take her to the doctor!
