Want some ideas of what we can take on vacation to snack on in the car. We have a 19 month old, and want something that isn't going to melt while we go in somewhere to eat- and something that doesn't need refrigerated or anything- Lemme know- We leave Thursday and will be gone (on the road) for (I'm guessing) 12 hours at least ....Going from Central Illinois to Far into Pennysylvania....

Buy some whole grain chips, then stop at roadside stands to buy fresh fruit.....no need to refrigerate if you buy only enough to eat at the time. Juices are great too & they can be bought along the way. That's what my sister & I do when we travel. Oh, cheese, also!
