How can the sri lanka terrorist group LTTE still operate?

Known as dangerous terrorists all over the world, LTTE is now banned by the EU recently. How do they still manage to operate?How can the terrorism be defeated?

You cannot "DEFEAT" terrorists. You have to make a political settlement with the people, and remove their support. The Tamil Tigers, like the IRA, cannot operate without the support of the population from which they come. It is this support that allows them to continue to operate, and this support comes from the injustices under which the Tamil population suffer. These injustices are exacerbated by misguided attempts to defeat the terrorists. What you have to do is cut the ground from under their feet.
Remedy the situation of the Tamils, give them hope and real progress, give them an equal stake in society, give them respect, and the Tigers will wither on the vine of indifference.

LTTE is Tamil terrorist organisation.They had killed Indian Politician Rajiv Gandhi.LTTE is only interested in Sri Lanka.They want Sri Lanka to be divided and a Tamil Country to be created.They are in virtual control of half of Sri Lanka ,collect taxes,donations of Tamilians all over the world,from neighbouring Tamil Nadu and through drug traffic and money laundering.Since it is supported by local people ,their operating cost is very small.They call themselves as freedom fighters.Sri Lankan issue has other implcations.It is also a fight between local original Sinhalese and migrated Tamilians(many centuries back from India)Sri Lankan terrorism cannot be defeated and only solution is a division of Sri Lanka into Sinhals Lanka and Tamil Lanka or making Srilanka part of India(which world nations will not approve)

There are so many terrorist groups already banned operating all over the world, it is really hard to get rid of them because they carry their filosofies to younger manipulating minds, so when the leaders die, another one follows their path. Only with education and knowledge you may get people no to be so easy to be brainwashed.
Same reason why some people may follow the terrorist group lead by Bush, and why many of us don´t believe in him.
