The devil is everywhere also. He is standing right next to you at this instant and waiting for his chance. Want to test it? Want to see what happens if you do? It is rumored that he wants people to do bad things right? Right. Go for it. Test the principle. Get a gun and go to the corner convenience store. Do something bad like that. That is, after all what the devil wishes isn't it. Let's see if it is true. Go to the store with the gun, stick it into the guy's face and ask for all the money and see what happens. If your theory is correct and the devil will come tonight, then, if you do it today, before he gets here, then nothing bad will happen and you will be richer for your trouble. If the devil is not here right now, then you are home free.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

I would tell him, he is a four time loser. You lost in the Garden of Eden, He lost at the cross, he lost at the resurrection, and he will lose again when Jesus casts him into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20. I have confronted demonically possessed people, it is a real eye opener.

Mate, he's already here, I drank too much wine, caught my husband on an online chat thing (again) and nearly smashed his car up.....or knifed myself. Good thing he is stronger than me. I know God is right here but I'm in the poo big time. If you are a Christian, pray for me?

I keep a sword next to my bed. If anyone comes and leans over me in my sleep, they're getting a face full of blade, I don't care who they are.
