anchovies, even if they're not rotten.
More bad smells I've come across were when I worked at Wendy's. Once, we got in five cases of tomatoes, three of which were rotten (the full cases, not just individual tomatoes). The other came from the grease dumpster outside; we sent someone home sick after he accidentally caught a whiff of the inside it in the middle of July.

Wipe down the interior the refrigerator with dampened baking soda. Then sprinkle dry baking soda everywhere in the interior the refrigerator. additionally placed some dry baking soda in a bowl interior the refrigerator. close the door and wait patiently. The scent WILL bypass away.

belachan - fermented shrimp paste used in asian cooking, mainly thai food. but it tastes great, i guess it is an accquired taste. i have been told by people who have never tried it that the initial smell reminds them of dirty, stale socks!
