Who is the freeloader? A spouse, family member, roomate, friend???

If it is just a roomate or a friend and they are not on any lease, get an eviction notice.

I think you didn't mention who this freeloader is, because it's a member of the family (?) and the relationship to the family at this point in time is not as important to you as their non productive presence in the home.

Because of the lack of detail, probably no one here can give you very good, informed advice, but advice in it's rawest form....and many will probably suggest it....is to pack their bags and leave them on the front steps....and then escort them to the door, but maybe a few days advanced notice will be a good thought.

If they are more than a deadbeat son or daughter, you might have to follow traditional landlord/tenant rules in your community.

the best way is to be blunt and honest!!! "tell he/she to get a job, clean up, cook, and/or etc"(be very specific) and give he/she a end date to do do what you've asked for. you have to be firm and reasonable and tell them exactly why they are n this predicament and reverse the script to see how they'd feel if u were doing to them what they are doing to you... if they haven't by your date then you have to wait till they leave get all their belongings out of your house(in a box/bag) and change locks etc. this way is a lot easier because then they have no reason to come back to your house. if they do and are confrontational then call the police!

Change the locks on the house or move and leave them behind.
Tell them it's not a free ride nothing is. So Bye Bye

tell the individual they must leave if they don't call the police dept. this wont give the person a record of any kind but the police can help get them out the door

oh gosh sounds like my son
i just had enough one day and throw his stuff out
but suppose that is a bit harsh huh
but when you have had enough you have had it
just have to get your muscles in place and tell the free loader enough is enough OUT
sorry but if you want to say please get a job please help with the bills you will be talking on deaf ears you might as well chat to the wall
just tell him or her OUT
best way
good luck
respect
