If you have to "get this guy to like you for who you are and not what you look like" chances are you would be better off without him. Why would you want someone shallow enough to judge a person by their looks? He should like you for your personality just because he chose to, not because you "got" him to. DON'T CHANGE FOR ANYONE!!! Be yourself and someone who likes you for you will come along and appreciate you a lot more and a lot longer. Trust me.

I think the best way is probably get to know him but in a smaller group. invite a few people , guys and gals ,to a movie , but only a smallish group 4-6 people , go as a bunch of friends so it's not uncomfortable , ask some people you hang out with and a couple of the people he hangs out with , it's a starting point , and maybe you could all go for a coffee/ snack after/before the movie , so theres a point where you can get to talk as well (since no one ususally talks during a movie)......Or alternatively maybe join a group he belongs to for after school activitie's like a band ..or drama class ....or sports ...or whatever clubs your school has going that HE belongs to , and maybe you'll make a bunch of new friends along the way ...Good Luck :-)
