I just wonder what people think as negotiations are going nowhere and Iran is making more threats against Israel while slowly developing a nuclear weapon. Can we afford to attack Iran without putting Israel and our troops in Iran in harms way? Would most people, American and foreign support this? How do you feel?

By what type of attack, I mean air strike, ground strike, Americans, UN, etc.

I don't think military action is the best choice, because it could start another war that we really don't need. If Iran doesn't back down, we need to tighten security in the skies, ports, trains, etc.

After the disaster that is current-day Iraq and the somewhat successful war in Afghanistan, I don't think the United States is in any rush to start a new war with Iran.

In a way, Bushy is a hypocrite. He attacks Iraq for having weapons of mass destruction they DIDN'T have, yet he says diplomacy is the way to handle the same situation that is now happening in Iran and North Korea. These two countries have or are in the process of making/testing weapons of mass destruction but I don't see Bushy running in there to attack them like he did with Iraq.

Sure, Iraq was a different scenario because we've been dealing with them for years through sanctions and diplomacy, but Iraq was never the direct threat to the United States that North Korea is right now. I just don't understand why Bushy continues to defend his bad choice of attacking Iraq over WMDs that never existed in the first place.

Anyway, I think the U.S. should continue to seek solutions using diplomacy and sanctions when it comes to North Korea and Iran. War should never be the first choice; it should be the LAST choice when all other options have been truly exhausted.

Iran is doing just like Iraq did. They are a nuclear threat and are behind many of the terrorist attacks and behind the Hezzbollah. I think they need to be dealt with.
Since I don't know it all, I believe it is best decided by someone with knowledge of what is actually occuring. The UN is not effective anymore and so our leaders would have to make the decision.

It would be appropiate, yes, but definately not wise. If we do, we'd practically lose everyone who supports us but england and isreal. We ought to let others handle it, and not try and be the world's guardian/commander, as that is what everyone else claims america is, tension is boiling up, and rages is about ready to break against america, and if and when it does, we'll take HEAVY losses. Within five years, I honestly believe america will be attacked on it's own soil on the west coast, and within ten years the east coast will be attacked by russia, in all probabillity. We'll even lose part of america. No civilization lasts forever, and three hundred years is as good as anything, but we'll last longer toward he center states, only crippled.

Any aggression against Iran is going to trigger a major war (WW3?)
Just let them play with nukes if they get them what are they going to do? using them would be suicidal..

But if you won't accept reality, and refuse to believe me when I tell you what to think, then it's obvious that you are so wrapped in in your beliefs that no amount of rational discourse will have any effect.

So, go enjoy your little fantasy world. If you can't face reality, that's your defect.

Not at this point in time. There may very well come a point when we will have to attack them but that point hasn't been reached yet.
