Ok, so I'm reading a lot of questions that oppose illegal immigrants. OH and by the way, they are not all from Mexico. The U.S. was based on immigration. A lot of other countries are not as prosperous as the U.S. so people immigrate to the U.S. in order to create a better life for their families. The U.S. is a land of opportunity and if an immigrant needs a job, its easy to get because many people will not do certain jobs, i.e. work in the fields, sevants, gardeners, etc.
It does suck how specific ethnic cities are not a pretty site, east l.a. for example, but the government is the one who created ghettos like that.

While on the subject, if so many American are against immigrants from Mexico, why is the Mexican culture so popular. Americans love Mexican food, Hermosa Beach, CA alone has about 10 Mexican restaurants. Corona is the #1 beer and Margaritas are the #1 alcoholic beverage.

That is what I'm talking about girl! All of a sudden people act like they are being invaded by the Mexicans when this has been going on for years but is now being highly publicized.

Go out and watch the movie "A Day Without Mexicans" and perhaps you might think differently.

Way back the old old days. Mexicans have been in California long time ago, that's why most of the places were named after Spanish names. Anyway, the government are pro equality. Which means they just wanted the proper procedure in migrating in the US. Which means legality, there are a lot of illegal citizens in the US. Which they are trying to prevent due to for those who legally went to the states have more rights to stay in the US. About the ghetto topic, somehow it's how the people live. I mean it's the lifestyle of the persons so we could not blame the government for that.

Not only Mexicans but most of the immigrants are from other countries. Truly it is that the US is the land of opportunity. To some, they might be confuse with that being an issue since most of the comfort is already in the US. Unlike in other countries that most of the people have to struggle to survive.

LEGAL immigration is great.
Not all illegals are Mexican but MOST are.
"Americans will not do certain jobs" is a lie. Americans will do any job if it pays well enough, or if there is nothing else for them to do.
Corona is not the #1 beer, Budweiser is.
Margaritas are not the #1 alcoholic beverage, beer is. Actually beer is the #1 beverage overall, beating out water, milk, and soda.

We love LEGAL immigrants, even the ones from Mexico.

I heard her mom become an unlawful immigrant....to the Google. properly, so a ways her dad and mom have been defintely immigrants... This country was founded by immigrants, yes, that's true. They also came in and filled out forms @ Ellis island and became citizens. They didn't demand to be fed, clothed, educated and pandered to. They learned English and worked hard, building this country into what it is today.

That was also when this country "needed" immigrants to populate and conquer the land. Sorry, but we've got enough now.

If we allow every single person who wants to come in a free pass, we'll have to conquer Mexico, just to have the room for them all.

Just because I don't like illegal Mexicans coming here, doesn;t mean I have a problem with legal ones. No problem with eating Mexican food, that doesn't mean I endorse law breaking activity.

Legal immigrants provide strength, not so much with iilegal immigrants. Legal immigrants tend to be well educated, hard working, and want to create a new life for themselves and their families in a new homeland. These are exactly the kind of people we should encourage to move here.

Illegal immigrants, on the other hand, tend to be uneducated, think the rules don't apply to them, and that they can move to a new nation and not give up the culture of their home. It's called "assimilation", look it up sometime.

Don't confuse the issue of people being against illegal immigration with thinking those people are against all immigrants. That's not usually the case.

Was based on immigration. WAS being the operative word. Immigration was needed in the 1800's and early 1900's.

The lifeboat is now full. The land of opportunity has become the land of need for many of it's own citizens. We can no longer afford to offer up all of our resources on a silver platter, when we have upwards of nearly 16 million unemployed U.S. citizens of which I am one, who would be estatic to have some of our nation's plenty offered to us, rather than to illegal aliens.

It's not immigrant that we're against. It's illegal immigrants. While I do agree that this country was built from immigrants, they were LEGAL immigrant whom came here from Ellis island and had to register.
If you want to be technical basically every country is made of immigrants. The Saxons, Celts, Norseman, Romans, and other tribes in England. The Spanish and native american tribes in what is mexico today. But at some point it needs to be regulated.
That time is now.
The government didn't create the condition that East L.A. is in. The people who live there did. A lot of places used to be nice, but due to overpopulation and people bringing their living habits with them is what makes a lot of areas in the U.S. not up to par anymore.
BTW to Stargazer: California may have once belonged to Mexico, but we bought it from them. At least we didn't kill the indigenous people and just take it over like Mexico did to theirs, we paid money for it.

ILLEGAL immigration is the key. America has nothing against people coming here as long as it on legal terms. Study after study show that illegal immigrants only harm the country instead of being an asset. And no I am not saying every illegal immigrant is bad.

When the land called America was nearly devoid of people, they were encouraged to come. They were given land grants etc. They stopped giving homesteads and land grants decades ago. The country is over populated. We have millions without health care, shelter, you name it. We are no longer an empty country needing immigrants. This is such an old argument. We are no longer respected as a sovereign nation and are borders and laws are being challenged by people who hate us. We have to close the borders and start taking care of our own people now or we will fail as a country.

only our enemies want us to fail and suggest things that will cause that failure.

Legal immigration is the foundation for which America was built but there does come a time when we have to call it quits. Do you think that America has an endless supply of land? What about the animals we have here are we going to keep on pushing them out of their homes? The eco system is something we have to protect. I for one don't want to live like the Chinese do.
