It's enigmatic. That's why so many years later we're still discussing it. I suppose that's what makes it a masterpiece. It's open to constant re-interpretation, and it continues to inspire human conversation and thought.

I hate Mona Lisa's smile. It's boring. There's no real feeling to it. It's just a woman trying to smile in a way that won't make her seem more flawed than she already is.

A smile deserving of the glorification Mona Lisa gets would be flawed ..but in a good way. It would seem real like when you take a picture of someone laughing without them knowing you were taking their picture.

Seems to me that I saw a newscast that resolved the smile on Mona lisa was actually Michelangelos mouth turned upside down.

You know, I never really saw it as much of a smile. Maybe more of a knowing smirk. Like she was trying to hold back a smile or she knows a secret or she's hiding something. I always wondered what the fuss was all about.
