Glad I read the details to your question - I almost went into an Astro-rant! No, a thousand time no - Neil himself has categorically denied this. Some of the Islamic sites propagating this myth also claim he detected microwave radiation coming from mecca, which should establish their credibility!
To be fair, it has to be said that many Muslims are thoroughly embarrassed by these claims and disassociate from them. And lets face it, it's no more inherently daft than many things claimed by Xtians!

Here's a tip: Pick a religion, any religion. Guess what - it has some liars and wackos in it.

I like this question , because it made me think.... but...you must not get so angry Jenny. I am an Irish Catholic , (by birth) but my mother renounced the faith and on her death bed sent the priest away, because she said he could NOT reclaim her soul. It was hers to do whatever she wanted with.

Their religion isn't strong enough & they're being attached all the time because of their terrorism, they need to feel strong so they use these lies to try to feel safe & get good publicity. I live in Muslim community & now they kidnap coptic christian Girls & force them 2 marry Muslim guys & convert 2 Islam Then tell everyone that these girls chose Islam as religion willingly, just to make their religion appealing.
