Can I have some money?........... hahaha this is because most people in America are focused on the monetary value of things. It is just our society these days. I guess you really can't blame the people too much. They have been conditioned to think this way. All we can really do is help them see that there is more to life than money. Good luck!!

I think people feel that way because they feel if it was them then they would share. Me personally I have never asked anyone for any money nor have I ever borrowed any money from anyone and I just had a similar situation myself were I came into a little money and people were mad that I didn't "break bread "as they would say, but I felt as though just like I worked hard for what I had gotten why should other people reap a piece of my success.
With the exception of my family and best friend

They don't or they shouldn't. If they do (and you haven't borrowed any money from them that you never paid back) you know those are the people to leave in the dust. I actually had a problem like this with a sister once, her husbands dad had caused him some legal problems in their business and she expected me to pay for it (even though the money was because my house had burned to the ground and I was homeless because of that and it didn't amount to that much after the mortgage was paid). I did try to give it to them but her husband wouldn't take it, she got very mad at me and we didn't speak for a long, long time over that (apparently he didn't tell her that he refused the money) and our relationship has never been the same since.

The only way I would owe anybody money if I won a large amount of money would be my mother, sister, or grandmother, along with my friends that were very close and i could count on if i were in a tight spot.

I'm not sure. In reality, you don't owe anyone anything. But if my immediate family asked for a sum of money after I won the lottery, I would surely give. Also I would give to friends that I know are struggling financially.

Only if you've borrowed money from that person should you feel like giving them something in return. Otherwise, it's their own jealousy & greed demanding that you give some of your winnings to them.

Example...when I was getting child support payments, I always shared the money with my mother. She was always being generous & buying things for my son when money was tight or simply because she wanted to. I didn't have to share the money with her but did because of her helpfulness when I needed it.

Crazy people think that, only pay back people you owe if you owe any and to hell with the rest you don't owe them diddly.

well thats why you don't tell anyone you won. my husband won some money at the casino and was so excited about it that, he was going to call everyone he knows and tell them about it. luckily, I was there. this sounds mean but, he was about to call his mom and I told him, "don't even think about it". I told him, first of all, we're not suppose to gamble. 2nd, last time we won money, your mom called me and said something about how shes trying to pay off her house. I mean, common! it was only $16,000 anyways, never tell a soul about it, not even your girlfriend, unless you have a wife then, its up to you if you want to tell. all up to you if you want to give anyone a dime. I would say that I have to pay off debt and all that other crap.

because they are jealous that they didn't win it, and maybe they helped you get to the point where you won the money, like they drew your winning ticket, taught you how to play poker, or were your bingo coach...basically i think its because they are just jealous and greedy so there you have it my theory for the day! :)
