now some ppl are calling back we were just having a little bit of fun and we didn't no that we could get in trouble for it..... Did we do any thing bad?

i love prank calling, just so in case they have caller ID, press *69 or *67 so they dont see the idea
its B.S that you get in trouble, i think that its really fun, and the people who calling back are old crackpots
just call random number but make sure they have the ID protected, but even then, you really shouldnt get in trouble, thats an innocent joke everyone likes to play!!!

I say it's harmless fun as long as you didn't say anything offensive or mean! You have to be careful now with *69 & caller Id.
You might get into trouble if you said some bad things or made threats.. Other than that you should be fine.
Be careful next time.. calls are much more easily trased

Well... It might have been funny at the time but to the people you called, it can be kind of annoying. Think about it ... What if someone was prank calling you and asking stupid questions or something, wouldn't you be a little annoyed? I know I would. You weren't doing anything wrong. Everybody has done it at least once, it can just really annoy people. Anyway, hope this helps. :]

Well, yeah. While it may seem like fun to you, it certainly isn't fun for the people on the other end. They might be sick, or sleep days because they work nights, they may have a new baby at home, you just don't know.
My suggestion is just to apologize to the people who call back and tell them sincerely that you didn't mean to cause trouble and you didn't realize how wrong it was.

You can get in trouble for it believe me! One of my kids did that with their friend when they slept over my house and eventually it got traced back to us and my kid ended up at the police station....people have caller ID now....it wasn't even my kid who made the phone call either...it was the friend and I didn't know about it until the police came to my door! You have to be careful because nowadays the police take that stuff seriously and you can end up in juvenile hall and stuff if you don't stop....but usually you just end up getting a speech as long as they don't press charges....I consider it no big deal but it is considered harrassment.....

me and my friend prank called someone and the ladys mom just died so she was really emotional and cried and everything me and my friend thought it was funny cause we didnt iknow why she was crying so we called her back (we did it 3 times)then she did *69 and my mom picked up she said she was gonna call the cops but my mom said shed take care of it and she was sorry my friend had to go home and we just thought it was harmless fun and the police didnt come luckily just wanted to tell the story

At best, prank phone calling is rude.
Depending on the prank, it may be illegal.
And with caller I.D., it's almost impossible NOT to get caught.
