I really dont understand why people (A)assume things to be true and claim they are or (B) state a false fact as true when it is easlily proven wrong. Im not talking about anyone or religion specifically, but why do people do this?
And on the other extreme, why do people paste a whole page of an explanation for a simple two sentence question?

To both questions: some people can only feel tall if they cut the heads off others. So they "bend" the facts to their own convenience or hold forth to "dazzle" people with their oratory.
But don't worry, those around them aren't stupid, we always notice the BS factor and think less of them for it.

Some people will believe anything anyone tells them or anything they read. In some cases it may not be that they are purposely stating false information, but that they read or heard it and genuinely think it is accurate. This of course goes for every religious preference. Its one of the faults of human nature. Regardless how corrupt it becomes some of us are just way too naive. The page of answer is just so they can rant and ramble and pretend to know so much more just because they can type so many words.

True enough on the whole page deal, but sometimes the answer to the question is that big. You want the answer to make sense, and sometimes you have to write a small essay for it to do so.

Because some people just like to talk out of their butts. They can't admit they could be wrong about something, or that they might actually make a mistake.
It's just human nature.

Its denial.
They believe in some fairy tale. To make it real they have to alter reality. It's sad isn't it?
