I have sexed all my parrots by sending a blood sample to Avianbiotech. If you call them, they will send you a card absolutley free.
You can have your vet cut one single toenail or you can cut one single toenail on your bird and get a single drop of blood. (after you cut the nail, you can stop the blood with some flour or your vet can use a silver nitrate stick)
You place that drop of blood on the card and mail it to them with a check for $25.00. They will check the blood sample for the DNA to determine your bird's gender. It's all very simple.
They will even post the results online for you, rather than waiting for snail mail. I believe that you can even send them a blood feather now and they can run the DNA test also.

Very simple with a DNA test! In fact you can request one from many of the DNA places....they'll send you a kit, and the vet will just cut the toenail a tad bit to short for a drop of blood, and you'll know what sex your Amazon is

i have a blue-front amazon as well!
i wanted to sex "her" a while ago but the blood test to get it down is somewhere around $300....i've had "her" for 7 years now, i think you just go with what you want and never really know unless you're willing to pay the vet. i decided Kaboki was a girl because of how she sings & sounds just a like a little old lady trapped in a closet at the oprah....!

Really when it comes to birds, if they do not have color markings or beak markings to help you determine the sex the only true way to find out is to take the bird to the vet and let them do blood work to determine the DNA. It kinda expensive but if you really want to know, not to mention the birds live forever... you can get it done that way.

I think you need to have the vet check - it involves looking internally. My ex-inlaws had to have their Quaker parrot sexed at the vet and they put him under to do that.
Never get a Quaker, the nasty screaming green monsters.
