No. Why would it be mandatory?

If you have a bunch of goofy people coming to your wedding, I would say yes, but I would never ask anyone to do the chicken dance at my wedding. That's more for birthday parties and less formal events in my opinion.

But hey, if the bride and groom wanna flap their "wings" like a chicken, have at it. It's their day, after all! :)

I think in this day and age the chicken dance is a little outdated I would only play it if you have lots of seniors at your wedding.

I don't think that I have ever been to a wedding that hasn't done the chicken dance.

I think the chicken dance is pretty fun to do, It's up to the bride and groom if they want it played or not at their wedding

*falls over laughing* I'm not a huge fan of the chicken dance myself, but if you have a wedding with a bunch of "seasoned" adults in attendence, I say go for it. Total crowd pleaser with that group!

I love the chicken dance. i think it gets people who wouldnt normally dance, out on the dance floor. My husband hates it! But we made a rule, unless 5 people requested it, it wasnt to be played. 21 people requested it!
