Most important is repair of any kind of vehicle or weapon, because one such non-com can keep 20-30 combatants on the field if necessary,
unfortunately they are behind the scenes and don't get the respect they deserve.

This is hard without causing conflict with other MOS' and such. They really each are important in their own way. However, I think the mechanic/repairer is the least respected for what he does. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. Without him, the vehicles don't run and the weapons don't work. When they go to combat, they're not the ones who come home with the awards even though their job kept everyone else running. I'd also say the combat medic should be respected.

Combat Infantryman of any branch of the Armed Forces.
But all are truly important, from supply to intelligence, pilots to parachute packers, ammo bearers to cooks, etc. They are a team.... all should be proud to be part of an effective team.
Generals and officers are also important.... IF they earn the respect of their men.... if they don't, they are just an emblem of rank and have a hard time co-ordinating things so the whole system can work smoothly.

i have to start out with what you said not that they are all respectful how about that. My husband is a Calv. Scout he went through training at Ft. Knox KY. I had been to several Military graduations and I have to say this one was by far the best. They take pride in what they are doing. They know that they have a job to do to get in and get out alive. They are the first in and last out. They go in to see what's going on and report back to others. I'm proud of all of our troops but when they stand up proud with their flag of red over white which means death over quitting means something or at least it does to me. Cavs. are put through hell and back and they do NOT have a very easy what so ever AIT. It's a lot of head games as he found out at basic training AIT is a little worse with the games and training.

Most military enterprises, barring those, which are fought on purely humanitarian grounds, are exercises in villainy. So I would never attach prestige, honor, or worth to straight infantrymen whose job it is to murder for the sake of US economic dominion.
If I had to pick a military position that was praiseworthy it would have to be those servicemen who are an integral part in the rebuilding efforts and those involved in bringing humanitarian aid to war torn regions. I am not sure if there is a particular label given to those brave souls, since I am not that familiar with military titles.
Their job is the most worthy of laudation because they mitigate the effects and remedy the wrongs of our war machines. They are the lone cogs in the military industrial complex that imparts something positive to an entity whose foremost job is that of killing.

The cook. Definitely the most important, least respected.
The corpsman or medic. Second by an eyelash to the cook in importance, but definitely respected.
