I have been working on this level for 14 years and cant get past it.

Yes over and over. Which Doom? Actually BF is playing it now I was playing for a few hours tonight.
Some cheat codes are
invunerable = iddqd (your eyes turn white and will last through all levels)
all weapons= idkfa (top will say "happy weapons added" in red)
show map= idbeholda (will say " power up toggled" in red)
turn on lights= idbeholdl (will wear off in a few minutes)
walk through walls = idclip or idspispopd (depends on time of day this can get you lost in the mapyou should turn it off when you don't need to get back up after falling off just reneter it to shut it off)
radiation suit= idbeholdr (you wont need this is you are set to invunerable)

Yes. There are books out there that can help you get through the levels sometimes the exit door is hidden if I remember correctly.
Not able to find a book check out some of the resources below.

If it is doom, or doom2 then I could help. I can't play dos games on win xp. Go to dlh.net for cheats and solutions. If it is doom 3, then I can't help (yet). I always cheat anyway. I tried, but always got creamed (more like massacred). Good luck.
