depends on the guy. some think if you give them a second glance that you want them (wishful thinking), others look for obvious signs. also depends on your age, your body language, etc.

Because, believe it or not, with some women "hot" really means "hot". Especially if they are with a new guy they have not yet slept for whom they become desirious during a date or other get-together.
