Why the double standard?

Why is it that an attractive women will date an ugly or old man, but you never see a homely woman with an attractive man.

(and guys, please don't blame this on the woman. this has everything to do with your standards)

Cuz the world is ruled by men. They make up most of the rules and brainwash us into believing that its ok.

well first of all men are more visual creatures than women are. a lot of women are willing to look over some minor physical traits in order to gain someone who loves and respects them the way they need to be treated. men aren't typically that way. I'll tell you a scenario that i bet you didn't think of. have you ever seen a fine black man with a big fat white chick? I have seen plenty. some black men will do anything to be with a white chick even when they could get drop dead gorgeous black women. the reason i point that out is because I know you have seen it it may have just not registered with you that it was the same thing. so even though men are more visual creatures there are men who are willing to date people who aren't as attractive to them because they offer something else that attracts them. do i agree with it? no. but it is the same thing. black men dating white women just because they are white is the same thing as women dating ugly men for money, So in essence you do see attractive men with not so attractive women most people just don't relate those two scenarios together. i've heard it say "men see with their eyes, women see with their hearts".

in other words: men are visual creatures and need to be, first, phsically attracted to a woman. while a woman on the other hand, looks at other attributes of a man first ie, humor, intelligence, even earning potential, etc.

and i know other woman will agree, the longer you spend time with a guy who is everything you want in a mate, but who might not be the most attractive, becomes more and more attractive as time goes by.

It all depends on one's taste & availability factor.

If an attractive man is left with none (it's quite unlikely as women are attracted to him as the bees to the honey) & only a homely (ugly) woman is readily available, he would take a chance with her! No attractive men like to go alone!

You have to understand the relationship that you describe. Most of those relationships are materialistic and not based on love. In the older guy younger woman case it's all about money. the same also goes most times for the ugly guy pretty woman scenario. So basically it is a status issue that you are referring to.

For the majority guys (and majority of girls) he/she needs to be attracted to his partner. The relationship will be bumpy if not. How can you be intimate when your body doesn't want you to. It becomes force, and you lack that "closeness". Sex is a part of any relationship, wether you want to admit it or not. Not even for shallow reasons. Personally, I love to make love to my woman for the emtional impact it brings, but I wouldn't be able to do so if I wasn't attracted to her. Your body and mind both have to agree.

This isn't shallow by any extent, its being realistic to what you want.

So in reality, there isn't a double standard.

A man's ERECTION (hard on ) is conditioned by the BEAUTY of a woman. That's why GOD made u women PRETTY so a man D*CK could stand up & penetrate. If a woman is not PRETTY, then a man will not be able to have an ERECTION.
Another thing, Older women don't like to date younger men because they have so much respect for themself & what society think of them if they go out with younger guys.

Usually when you see a scenario like that, the guy is a stone cold a**hole that just wants someone to control and the woman has low self-esteem and thinks that even though he treats her like sh*t, his good looks are worth the trade off. Maybe not all the time, but I've known couples like this.

In California that's all you see is fine guys w/dogs for dates, my ex went and got a ugly fatty too. Ugly people do whatever it takes to keep the guy or the girl if you're cute you don't have to do much your looks make them want to stay.

I guess more woman than men look for personality because woman are more emotional which I think leads to more woman not finding physical looks a high priority.
