Walking is excellent way to burn fat.
You must do it at lest three times a week, more often is better.
Speed is not the issue, a steady pace is.
While walking, pick a melody that matches both your stride and step. The beat should match your left foot. The trick is to complete your walk with out changing your stride, rhythm or speed.

The military do it by calling cadence.

Make sure your diet is three meals a day, 8 glasses of water, NO snacks. No seconds at meal time, just a balanced diet.

Nothing is forbidden, Fast food restaurants are out!

Other wise, do not bother to walk.

Over 15,000 Kilometers and still walking!

Yes, brisk walking is a brilliant idea, better than jogging, and extremely good for your heart too. Best thing is to build it into your routine so that you do it regularly. If you can, build it up to 30 minutes 5 times a week, or more if you can!

Yes. Walking is a wonderful way to trim down. Start slow and speed up. Also stretch your limbs before embarking on a long walk and remember to warm down after the walk. You also should reduce the amount of salt, cholesterol, fat and carbohydrates in your diet and you will certainly on the road to a healthier lifestyle and feel much better for it. Best of luck! Oh and by the way - it helps to keep a log of the exercise you do - it will provide a constant source of motivation and sense of achievement;-)

Brisk walking is a good way of keeping in trim. Unlike jogging which is bad for your joints and general health.

I am not a physical trainner or anything of that sort just a regular person but when I wanted to loose a couple of pounds I took on walking at my own pace and it worked out for me. Sometimes that is all it takes a bit of an effort. Also taking vitamins and suplements will help your stamina and take you to a next level.

Absolutley, you must do it for a mile or 2 at least though. And it does have to be brisk. Turtle pace wont burn much.
