my friend suffered from breast cancer 6 year ago after two chemo sessions and losing her eyesight and feelings in her arm and leg, she decided no more, she also contracted the hospital bug when they cut the cancer out. She was a fit beautiful woman before this now she cannot walk can hardly see and is a recluse, psychiatrist and GP says theres nothing wrong with her, There is obviously something wrong so who or what can she do now, any advice would be gratefully received.

No my friend has 5 children she is distressed and distraught about the situation she does not want to die, she wants someone to help, no one seems to care, her mum has just bought her a disabled scooter out of her weekly pension to help her get out and about, someone should be helping her, but she doesn't know who to turn to or who to ask for help!

i find this so sad. it is such a shame. why is it that people who are supposed to be cared for in our sociesty get forgoten. i would like to personaly apologise for all that has has gone wrong. why do i apologise,,,,i dont know,,, i just think that some one has to. i suggest that your friend contact a lawyer, someone who has dealings with this sort of thing. who can help. she needs a person who has feelings, and can understand what she has been through. i have not had cancer, but have lost two grandparents through it, one who sufered from mouth cancer and went through so much pain to come with new ways of treating the disease. there are so many speacalistists out there. i hope you can find help.

Who is taking care of your friend now? Does a nurse or helper have to go in daily? Why not be there when they do.
Surely she's not alone.........
Maybe she wants to die and it's not happening quick enough for her.
I don't really know.
She's been through an awful lot. But she's not deranged and therefore can make her own lifestyle changes.
Tell her you're upset and talk about it with her.
Just be there for her no matter what.

Try to get ur friend involved in some activities with other people who have disabilities , this way she may not feel so out of place , she should be proud of who she is after getting through all of that

I know its easy for me to say... but I have noticed people around me who have had cancer and once they realise it is near to the end - they make a huge change of their lifestyle.. do what they never thought was their style - what the hell - and they are still happy and full of life to this day.

Its happened to a lot of people and I wish your friend well.
Most of it is psychological... you got to beat it. Good Luck.
