Actually a company called "Fair&J" provide all the maintenance for the White House...
Same goes for Embassy's abroad.. same company. The average worker is paid starting at 22/ hr.

They have traditionally been staffing the White House since before FDR.

If I have to get "checked" to get on a military post and my car has to be "checked" at will by armed gate guards. I WOULD IMAGINE that there is a teeny tiny bit of "checking" involved when it comes to the President of the United States..........no matter what you do for him!
