Sometimes u can prepare the food ahead of time and just bring it in a cooler. Hot dogs and burgers with fries or chips for lunch. Spaghetti prepared at home, and warmed up in a skillet when it s time for dinner. BBQ is very good. Lunch meat sanwiches, fruit and chips. Boxed snacks. Roasted marshmallows, cant forget those...make some smores. I used to go camping all the time in the summers with my family, we ate a lot of food. We had a coleman stove for camping.
Happy Camping!!

To minimize the weight you have to drag in avoid canned or bottled foods and beverages which add a lot of weight. Freeze dried and smoked foods and energy bars are great and of course how long will you be gone and will you have access to fresh water to reconstitute the freeze dried stuff. Otherwise you will have to lug in a lot of water to cook with and that will be heavy.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, canned veggies, baked beans, pancake mix, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, chocolate bars, marsh mellows, gram crackers, bread, butter, peanut butter, jelly, milk, coffee, sugar, bottled water (for cooking and drinking) packaged snacks and boxed Mac & Cheese. Don't forget the cooler and bring plenty of ice.
I think thats good for starters.

Lots of trail mix (combo of raisins and other dried fruit and nuts, peanuts, and sunflower seeds.) Hot dogs with smart dogs for the vegetarians. (Assuming there's a way to cook them, otherwise cold cuts and peanut butter.) Hot dog buns and condiments. Apples. Marshmellows.

you can buy freeze-dried food in compressed packages (great for backpacking)..old standbys include instant coffee, instant drink mixes..etc. just remember...the less dishes to do...the better!
