Don't worry even babys get yeast infections from the diapers. At your age it could be the underwear, fabric softner in the clothes along with a long list. Talk to your doc for a cream and eat one yogurt a day with live yeast cultures as the cultures ward off yeast infections.

Sure, but don't freak. Yeast infections can be caused by hormonal changes (which I am sure you are experiencing) or by being on an antibiotic.

First, you should go to the doctor since this is likely your first one. Nothing to be ashamed of. They will do an exam and take a swab (won't hurt). Then they will give you a cream to put on once a day, and in 3 days it will be gone.

Just remember not to use douches because they change the chemical balance of your vagina and can also push bacteria up into your urinary tract.

Good luck and feel better.

yes, now there is some over the counter meds to take care of it, its a vaginal suppository...look at your local walmart or drugstore, you don't need a prescription either. sometimes yeast infections can come from wearing too tight of pants or other reasons not associated with sex so don't think automatically the girl has been up to something. go to the store get the medicine and it should take care of it within a day or two, if that doesn't help or it gets worse despite the medicine you may have to check with a doc.

Yes, actually. Yeast infections are cause by hormone & chemical imbalances in your body, being 13, I assume you are just really getting your period, or just recently anyway, so that means your body is changing. If you have any discomfort in that area, talk to your mother and have her take you to a gynecologist - it's time for you to start going regularly anyway.

It certainly is. It's called vaginal candidiasis. It doesn't reflect badly on the girl and it has a variety of causes, even overexposure to sea water. There's nothing to be ashamed of. It's important to have it diagnosed and treated. Once this has been done, the next time this girl has one she'll know it for what it is and can purchase over-the-counter antifungals instead.

yes. go to the Dr. and get treated because it won't go away on it's own. You can get them from sexual contact, not wiping or washing correctly, staying in wet clothes or a bating suit too long, wearing tight clothes that do not have "breathing room" and you can get them if you have been on a strong course of antibiotics for a cold or another health problem. Sometimes they just happen, but you need to see a Dr.

Yes, it is.

Yeast infecion is not an STD.

Women get it from wearing certain materials, like, polyester underwear, nylons, soap, certain perfumed creams, etc...

Pay attention to any of these things and try to eliminate them. Try wearing cotton undies or the ones that are lined with cotton. Don't use anything too perfumed down there, it's not to good

of course it is. my daughter had a few of them when she was even younger than that. The doctor gave her anti yeast meds to be used externally not internally due to her age. And I believe he aslo put her on the prescription medication, diflucan.

Yeah because you can get your period at 8 and you can get a yeast infection anytime even if you don't have a period. It depends on if you clean your vagina.

Yes it is very possible...the most common cause?
Pants that are too tight or wearing thong underwear....I would just get some cream and treat it
There's nothing wrong with you or anything...it happens to every age.
