it depends on how bad the sprain is? Usually, you need to rest the ankle for at least 3 days - if not too serious, but it can go up to a week or more.
You have to keep in mind that you will always have problems with that ankle. You will have to be careful when doing exercises or any type of movement that will require you to put more pressure on that ankle.
Wrap it up when you are on you feet so that it can be kept in place. Remember, there is no cure aside from rest. Don't try to beat it, because if you do, it will never heal properly.

common, I even have susceptible ankles so they get sprained each and all of the time. All you may do is Ice it for quarter-hour. After that positioned a brace on or an ACE bandage, or in basic terms wrap it up. it rather is going to be sturdy after that, based how undesirable the sprain is. So what youre doing remarkable now's sturdy. different issues that help are tylenol or motrin, they decrease the soreness and produce the swelling down. And if worse is composed of worse, you could in basic terms grin and submit to it.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

You should keep it wrapped with an Ace bandage for at least 2 weeks, but doctors can give you an air-cast that would work better if you plan on being on your feet all the time. It depends on how severe the sprain is, but I would say go to a doctor. You don't want to screw up your ankle for life!

You should keep an elastic bandage on it and put cream on it for the bruising, hot then cold water on it also helps. With all that you should take off at least 12 days, but if you stand all day 2 weeks would be better.

i twisted my leg a month back and it still hurts. you should rest for atleast 10 days.put your feet up and relax for 10 days atlest. the itching will drive you crazy and so will the hot feeling. you can apply ice on your toes but never try to scratch.for pain you can take voltarine suppository. its better than taking iboprphin because iboprophin causes heart burn.
