I haven't yet found a woman who will give me everything I'm looking for. Fortunately, my partner agrees with me, and is quite aware she's not willing to do everything I'd like to do, so she's made it clear that when I go to satisfy my urges with other women, I need to be healthy and safe, use protection, and get a full set of STD tests afterwards, including HIV. She understands that as long as we're open and honest with each other, and keep the lines of communication between us open, there's less likely to be problems that arise due to insecurity or jealousy afterwards.
Would I be considered a cheater? Yes, though it doesn't have quite the same impact when your partner knows ahead of time, as well as getting follow-through and seeing the test results to verify I've been a safe, careful, and considerate partner for everyone involved.
And from her perspective, it's only fair; she's got limits on what she's willing to do, so rather than feel pressured into giving *everything*, she can work within the realm of what she's comfortable offering, secure in the knowledge that she knows about what else I'm looking for, and where I'm getting it.
I think the bigger problem with cheating is the dishonesty and lack of communication it can open up in a relationship; and those are bigger issues than just getting some different friction on the side.
As always, though, it's different for different couples. :)

Guys cheat for the exact same reason women cheat. Guys give them everything and women repay them by cheating. This isn't a guy/girl problem it's a, morality issue. Guys and women cheat because.......They Can!!

Not all men cheat. I have never cheated on any of my girlfriends before and I don't plan on doing it ever. I know you might think that I'm an idiot for answering this way but at least it has some hard evidence. In the animal kingdom, and like it or not we ARE animals, except that we have the ability to reason, no animal except the pinguin stays with one partner only. Male gendered animals want to pass their genes on to as many females as possible because they are obviously superior and they want to have genetically superior offspring. That's why new male lions kill the old cubs. Humans have been tought that it is immoral to cheat, that we are supposed to be with one person only. However this is not our natural behavior. Our natural behavior is to mate with as many females as possible to guarantee that our genetic pool will continue alive. We have always been guided by instinct. But since the whole morality story came into place we have adopted the behavior of being with one woman only and hance that has come the default behavior. However, many times males can't supress their instinct and therefore do what they do. Of course its not good, by morality standards, and I'm not defending it at all but it is our natural instinct. Just like all the other animals in the world. We find suitable females that we feel can give birth to healthy, strong offspring and propagate the species. Actually, there is a very interesting fact. Did you know that humans are the animal in the entire kindgom that get sick the most often? It has been found that the more sexual partners a human has the better his or her immune system will be. But as I said, as time went by and society changed and so did the morals our instinct was supressed and replaced by another behavior which is to be faithful; but again, as I said before, not all humans can supress this behavior. It wasn't the way we were born, this was they way we were raised. Its just like the animal kingdom in which all species are guided by instinct, for us we are guided by reason, but still we can't completely supress our natural instinct to mate.

Um, just as many women cheat also, it's not just the men. But guys often think that they need more than one girl, so start seeking other. This is known as "Pimping".

it all depends on the guy or girl. i gave my wife all she ever wanted and she cheated and left. you should never judge everybody for the mistakes of the few. and dont let him cheating on you harden your heart, you will find true love when you least expect it.

GUYS CHEAT THE MOMENT YOU LET THEM OUT OF YOUR SIGHT! AND WHEN THEY'RE NOT HAPPY! ITS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU GIVE THEM...ITS ABOUT WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE AND WHAT MAKES THINGS INTERESTING. ITS ABOUT THE CHEMISTRY THAT YOU GUYS HAVE. SORRY TO SAY...BUT ALL GUYS ARE JERKS. WE LIVE AND LEARN OUR MISTAKES. AND WE MOVE ON.
