Of course theyre part of the family! I have 2 male cats - Pocket (1 yr) and Riley (6 months)...we call them "the kids"...never the cats...always the kids. Theyre adorable...worse than actual children I think - the two of them are so needy...u cant sit down for a second without one of them jumping on you and licking you to death. i wouldnt trade em for the world!

I do as well.
I just found this sight yesterday due to my cat and some decisions that I am currently faced with. For the past 2 days, alls I can do is cry over what I know is the right thing to do for her. But I have also had the opportunity to reflect on our times together. The lessons, the frustrations, and lastly, the laughs.
A part of our family, absolutely!

I as well as my parents (my dad not so much) and brother consider our pets as part of the family. Some people think it's crazy but they have feelings too and enjoy the company of humans and don't mind the pampering evry now and then. I have a very happy dalmation, 1 cat and three turtles and I beleive they are just as much part of the family as me and my brother are.

Cats are consider part of the family. Don't call them sister or any of that stuff. Just say their name. I have 2 adorable cats. They are so, so, so, cute, they should be entered into the World's cutest cat contest (if only there was such a thing) :).

You are an only child and yet your "siblings" are furry?? I'd get to a genetics lab ASAP. If you plan to have children, you may have a gene that would pass off on them, making THEM furry.
The ONLY cats I "have" are the barn cats. They are self sufficient and do their job by keeping the rodents out of the grain bins and NOT pooping and peeing where they shouldn't.
I ignore them and they stay away from me.
The ONLY good cat is a BARN cat. We get them from the pound, they've all been spayed and if any do NOT adjust to the barn rules, they go back to the pound.

Yes, I definitely do. I have loved cats since I was a little girl. I would have a lot of cats if I had enough room & money to properly take care of them. For now I have two that I love very much. My mother thinks I go overboard, but I really do have a limit . . . most of the time . . . I think. lol.

while a cat licks you, he/she is exhibiting the two affection and setting up/marking relationship roles. on the single hand, you're being swathed interior the cat's saliva and the heady scent that is going alongside with it. it rather is to declare, "you're mine." on the different hand, you're receiving affectionate habit and, if the cat is licking your face or head, a demonstration of subordinance. Cat's lick one yet another's face and head to coach that the single doing the licking/grooming is subordinate to the different. via fact the food source, you're ace interior the cat's eyes (no functional pun, yet that replaced into rather exciting to form), so exhibiting you that he/she is subordinate to you will possibly make experience. Our kitty does this each and all of the time. nicely, one in each and every of them. the different is somewhat loopy and can quickly as chew your face off as lick it, in spite of the undeniable fact that she does nuzzle my beard while she lies on my chest.

Yes, my two cats are considered to be members of our family. We got our first cat, Mandrin, from an animal shelter. And we rescued the second one, Roadie, from the middle of a busy highway. (He was near-death, but he has recovered 100%.)
