It's quite normal and it can be REALLY WONDERFUL if you are careful to pick the right ones and be realistic about its limitations, including not being exclusive. When I was 14 I had my first lover who was 32. A professional man. No games. Complete honesty. He completely understood me. He was my confidant and a life guide as well as one of my lovers. The sex was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, including the first time (he knew just what to do to make my deflowering mind-boggling and I even orgasmed - more than once!). I was so lucky. Our physical relationship lasted until I was 22. We are still friends although he lives far away.
